The development of our energy solutions is closely linked to environmental responsibility, and the principle of sustainable development is a major driver for our operations. While seeking to answer energy needs with the available resources, we strive to preserve the environment to ensure that those needs can be fulfilled, not only for our generation, but for future generations as well.
European Environmental Laws
We abide by the European environmental laws, which covers air pollution, waste and waste-water disposal procedures, soil contamination procedures and other environmental-protection measures.
Cleaner Emissions
At MBH, we abide by the European emission standards, thus using technologies limiting the pollutants released in the atmosphere. As a German manufacturer, we first commit to the `TA Luft`(Technische Anleitung zur Reinhaltung der Luft - Technical Instructions on Air Quality Control), which includes air pollution control regulations applicable to industrial facilities in the electric power generation industry.
Our fuel range reflects our dedication to preserving a cleaner atmosphere; by incorporating Natural Gas and Crude Vegetable Oil, we are contributing to cleaner or CO2-neutral emissions.
Combined Heat and Power production using Natural Gas is also one of the cleanest sources of power available among fossil fuels.
Renewable Energy
At MBH we employ our R&D skills in order to develop power products that promote the use of renewable energy and thus the preservation of our environment.
As pioneers in the field of fuel conversion, we indisputably devoted our efforts in the right direction, resulting in the development of our Conversion Modules which allow the conversion of existing MBH medium-speed diesel engines and power stations, as well as those of other renowned brands, to operate on Crude Vegetable Oil (CVO).
With the planet´s reserves of fossil fuels getting depleted, modifying existing engines and plants for operation on CVOs such as Palm Oil, Jatropha Oil, Rapeseed Oil, or other oils with similar characteristics allows genset and power-station operators to use local (when available) renewable raw materials as complete or partial substitutes for fossil fuels.
Moreover, with the growing concerns about harmful emissions, using VOs that are CO2 neutral ensures less air pollution.
MBH recommends that the VOs used as fuel conform to its Quality standard for Vegetable Oil MBH FB-01/06
MBH has since converted a number of its and of other manufacturers´ plants into CVO operation, with more than 30,000 successful running hours on its own power plants.
Cogeneration
With our efforts aimed at maximizing the efficiency of MBH products, while minimizing environmental waste, we have engaged and specialized in the Cogeneration field since the 1990s.
Cogeneration is one of the most efficient means of simultaneously generating electrical power and heat from the same energy source, ending up with an overall energy-generation efficiency up to 90 percent.
The process uses heat that is otherwise lost in conventional power generation to produce thermal energy (steam and / or water) needed for local industries or municipalities. While making use of the recovered heat, cogeneration ensures increased efficiency of energy conversion and use - thus a higher fuel efficiency - , a decline in energy cost and lower emissions into the atmosphere. The use of cogeneration of power and heat is an efficient, economical and environmentally friendly practice
All the power plants we offer today incorporate the cogeneration concept as a standard.
Noise attenuation

In its drive to curtail noise pollution, which consists of displeasing human-, animal- or machine-created sound that disrupts the activity or balance of human or animal life, MBH has taken measures to address the issue, which today poses a major factor contributing to degradation in the quality of life.
Keen to preserve the environmental equilibrium and the welfare of its residential and industrial neighbours, MBH follows strict construction and manufacturing rules, thus minimizing industrial noise - resulting mainly from factory machinery. We also go beyond those rules in complying with German law on environmental policy, which covers environmental-protection measures.
At the core of our product spectrum are our generating sets, the open versions of which include anti-vibration devices stabilizing the gensets and thus reducing motion and equipment noise.
Enclosed versions for sound attenuation have further been designed and developed by our engineering teams. Depending on the model, noise levels can be reduced to 65dB at 1 meter. The same concept applies to room insulation when our clients have the required space.
Moreover, because of their friendly conception, our aesthetic enclosures render our gensets more in accord with their surroundings.
Most of our users plug in, utilize the power, behind which only our name can be heard!
