Living in Halberstadt

MBH was founded in 1951 in Halberstadt, at the time part of East Germany. Today, Halberstadt, the capital of the Harz district, lies in the state of Saxony-Anhalt, one of 16 federal states that make up the Federal Republic of Germany.

 

 



With a population of about 40,000 and many historical monuments, the city is one of the major touristic destinations in the region.

Concerts, theater plays, lectures and other cultural events are constantly organized in the city, which houses a Volkshochschule (http://www.kreisvolkshochschule-halberstadt.de/), a Cinema complex (www.Zuckerfabrik.de), a Hochschule, several fitness gyms and many historical cathedrals (St. Stephanus Cathedral).

It is connected to other cities via its main railway station (Halberstadt Hauptbahnhof), and is not far from Hanover and Berlin centers and airports:
